Caught in the Crossfire

 

 Caught in the Crossfire is a bold Bible study for Christians who find themselves caught between the Church and the secular world.

 

A Scriptural Study

This study has been designed in a simplistic fashion for serious students interested in following Christ to the cross and beyond.

We are accountable for our personal salvation. The Bible holds the answers. It is up to us to unlock those answers and show ourselves approved unto God. (ii timothy 2:14)

  

SET THEM FREE

 

When buried, Lazarus was tightly wrapped from head to foot in burial clothes. Because of a heavy saturation of ointments and spices, his garb weighed at least 100 pounds. When resurrected by Jesus, Lazarus came hopping out of his tomb still bound by his restrictive bondage. (John 11:17,23-26, 32-44)

As Lazarus exited his tomb, Jesus set eyes on him and commanded, Loose him and set him free (John 11:44).

We are much like Lazarus, bound in burial clothes of flesh, heavily saturated with sin. When Christ arrives to resurrect us, He will command His army of angels to Loose them and set them free as we exit this world. Until then we are CAUGHT IN THE CROSSFIRE between the secular world and that part of the Church who wants the best of both worlds.

 

SUMMARY

What passes for the Church today is largely a body of lukewarm Christians who believe in God while practicing a form of watered down Christianity, or Churchianity. This part of the Church worships God and tries to follow His commands. Yet they refuse to give up the desires of the flesh, forming instead traditions that allow them to circumvent the Word by diluting the truth. We must heed the warnings Christ gave to the Seven Churches as found in the book of Revelations. (REV 2:1-3:22)

I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love (Revelation 2:4) echoes more today than ever before. Does it echo in your life? In the end, will you be separated from God?

Stand firm in your faith. Hold to your salvation. Confirm all things that Christ will confirm you, and you will never know the separation from God experienced by Christ at Calvary.
